Civil court check

Seen as mandatory in a background check report, the results of a civil court check may reveal links of the candidate to civil cases for the last years, usually 5 or 10. The reason we do not go into a post-10 years time frame is because the reliability of data can be less than what we would call safe results.

While not to be used as a vital tool when deciding to hire or not, these results can shed light on the candidate’s past, especially if the candidate omitted to mention such in the resume. This can be construed as a red flag, and it’s good to know. What else is the candidate hiding then?
