For any candidate, when applying for a job with a company or a human resource agency, the prospective employer needs to know at least 2 things: candidate’s employment/professional background and the education background.
This ensures the employer will know if the candidate has the right experience or skills for the position he will be holding, and that the candidate has the proper qualifications as per his own application letter.
To do this, the employer hires us for a background check, which means, among other verification, we will be researching candidate’s education history and such. Research of education background is done starting from the information provided by the applicant.
Depending on the type of solution chosen, we verify:
- certifications, degrees, diplomas
- training or educational claims of a candidate
- dates of attendance
- school’s classification
- importance of the type of study
- if the academic or scholar institution issuing the diploma or degree is authorized to conduct such activities, if it has its license revoked or suspended in the past
In doing so, we contact universities, colleges, vocational schools, etc., to verify dates of attendance and graduation, degrees or certifications obtained, majors studied and honours received. The verification of education process is an important part of a quality pre-employment background check.
